I took a series of sunset photographs after the enormous eruption of Mt. Pinatubo, Philippines, in 1991.  This was the second largest volcanic eruption in the world in the 20th Century, and the dust traveling around the world resulted in spectacular sunsets.

Pismo Beach, California

The pier was being repaired, which added interest to the normally flat profile.  On the beach below, a family enjoys the view while a jogger runs by. The pier supports are reflected in the tiny momentary stretch of calm water as a wave recedes.
